The Ramona Sportsmens’ Club would like to thank California State Senator Brian Jones for attending their Sept. 13 meeting.

Grace Community Church
At the July meeting, Joe Drammissi of San Diego County Gun Owners presented a 60-minute seminar on the CCW process and legislation. The informative discussion broke down the many elements of obtaining and CCW and the responsibilities permit holders have. Details are available at the SDCGO website.
Thanks to the efforts of club member Gabriel Rosales, we were able to use the facility's projector and microphone - we appreciate your efforts!
At the meeting, former president Daniel Wisnewski also presented the club's grading plan developed around 2019. We have reached out to the Forest Service in hopes of arranging a meetup soon - stay tuned for details!
New membership cards are now available, so if you need an upgrade, please see a board member at a future meeting. We would also like to thank prospective club member Angela L. for creating a fillable PDF version of membership forms (which can be downloaded here). To become a member, please fill out a form and email to ramonasportsmensclub@gmail.com, bring to a future meeting, or mail to Ramona Sportsmen’s Club, P.O. Box 2477, Ramona, CA 92065. Cash or check is accepted, either can be accepted at a future meeting. Checks can be included if mailing your form - please do not mail cash.
Some have asked what your membership dues cover - at this time, membership dues help cover insurance costs and other fees associated with running our 501c7. As our reserves build, dues can help offset the cost of range days, so you receive a discounted rate. They also cover refreshments for meeting, printed materials, marketing materials, etc. As we develop our range, dues will be allocated to cover building and maintenance costs and will offer additional benefits to club members. We appreciate your support as we move forward!
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. - topic to be determined.

Grace Community Church
Over 35 guests attended the May 10 meeting of the Ramona Sportsmens’ Club at Grace Community Church, 1234 Barger Pl, with about 12 being first-time attendees.
Club president Dwight Webster facilitated introductions of long-time board members Dan Wisnewski, Chuck Smith, and Charlene Pulsonetti. At the meeting, George Watson was voted in by the membership as the club’s new secretary. Watson has a background in technical writing and has been a sportsman since childhood.
Wisnewski provided a recap of their plans to establish a multi-use range on Forest Service land close to Ramona. He explained that it will be a controlled facility stewarded by range safety officers and club volunteers. It will be used by club members and open to the public during specified hours. Along with a pistol, shotgun, and long-range, they plan to include a space and time slot for archery use.
After re-establishing contact with Forest Service representatives this summer, club leadership will be able to provide an updated timeline and estimated cost for the range.
Wisnewski added that there are opportunities to mitigate the cost of construction, and that they will be investigated as the process continues.
At the upcoming June 14 meeting, also to be held at 6:30 at Grace Community Church, club leadership will re-open membership registration and renewals. For information, visit ramonasc.org.
Attendees were asked to send in their ideas for future club meetings and events, as well as ideas for the establishment of sub-groups including fishing, hiking, and camping.
Kaleb Weakley spoke to attendees about his private local shooting range, Boldak Firearms Training. He said they will soon open registration for open shooting weekends, and that there will be an all-ladies range day where only women range safety officers and attendees will be permitted. Visit boldaktraining.com.
The club’s leadership extend a heartfelt thanks to Grace Community Church for the use of their space, and to those who supported the club through their attendance.
